Terms of Use
Last updated 26 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Core Folios (“we”, “us”) for the use of Core Folio. By using the app you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it — and if you have already paid, write to us and we will sort it out.
What Core Folio is
Core Folio is a place to keep the things that make up a life: your people, your plans, what you love, what you mean to do. It includes Cora, an assistant that can answer questions about what you have written.
Your account
- You need an account, and the email address on it must be one you control.
- Keep your password and devices to yourself. Anything done from a signed-in device is treated as done by you.
- One account is for one person. You may show it to whomever you like; you may not sell or share access to it.
- You must be 16 or older, or have a parent or guardian agree to these terms for you.
What you write stays yours
- Everything you put into Core Folio remains yours. We claim no ownership of it.
- We store it so the app can show it back to you, and we keep backups so it is not lost.
- We do not sell it, and we do not use it to advertise to you or anybody else.
- When you ask Cora something, the words needed to answer are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce the answer. They do not use it to train their models.
- You can export everything, at any time, from My data and account — and deleting your account deletes it.
- You are responsible for what you put in: it must be lawful, and yours to keep.
The subscription
- Core Folio Monthly — one month, £6.99, renewing every month.
- Core Folio Yearly — one year, £49.99, renewing every year.
- New subscribers get the first 14 days free. The free period is set by the App Store, and the App Store tells you what applies to you before you confirm.
- It renews automatically at the price above until you cancel. Payment is taken by Apple (or Google, on Android) at the start of each period.
- Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling a monthly subscription stops the next charge; cancelling a yearly one stops it renewing and it runs to the end of the year you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by the store that took the payment, under its own policy.
- If we ever change the price, the store will ask for your consent. Nobody is charged more without agreeing to it.
Using it well
Do not use Core Folio to break the law, to store somebody else’s data without their knowledge, to attack the service or work around its limits, or to resell it. We may suspend an account being used that way.
What we promise, and what we cannot
We work to keep Core Folio available and your data safe, and we take backups. We cannot promise it will never be unavailable, and it is provided as it is. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Otherwise, our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Ending it
You may stop at any time: cancel the subscription in your store, and delete the account from My data and account. We may end this agreement if these terms are broken, and will tell you why.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Core Folio after that means accepting the new terms.
Where you stand
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Apple, and the App Store
- This agreement is between you and us. It is not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for Core Folio or its contents.
- You are granted a non-transferable licence to use Core Folio on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
- We — not Apple — are responsible for support. Apple has no obligation to provide any.
- If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation.
- We — not Apple — are responsible for any claim that the app or your use of it causes harm, breaks the law, or infringes somebody’s intellectual property.
- Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo, and are not on a US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
